WARRANTY POLICY

1. Introduction
General JT International Pty Ltd trading as Verada ("Verada", "we", "us", "our") provides the warranties described in this policy for products purchased through our website or authorised sales channels.
This Warranty Policy operates alongside and does not replace your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
2. Products Covered by This Warranty
This Warranty Policy applies to the following product categories sold by Verada:
- Sun loungers and day beds
- Outdoor lounge beds
- Hanging egg chairs and hanging chairs
- Hanging chaise lounge swings
- Rocking chairs and glider benches
- Outdoor couches and porch swings
- Associated accessories supplied with the above products
3. Standard Warranty Period
Unless otherwise stated on the product page, Verada provides a 5 year limited structural warranty from the date of purchase covering defects in the materials and workmanship of the frame and structural components.
Cushions, fabrics, ropes, finishes and other soft or wearing components carry a shorter warranty period, which is set out in section 5.

*The structural warranty covers the frame and load bearing components. These warranty periods apply only to manufacturing defects and do not limit consumer rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
5. Components With Shorter Warranty Periods
Certain components are considered soft goods or wearing items and are subject to shorter warranty periods due to normal wear and exposure.

6. What This Warranty Covers
This warranty covers manufacturing defects that arise during normal and intended use of the product.
Examples include:
- Structural failure of a frame, leg, stand or base under normal use
- Weld failure or joint separation caused by a manufacturing defect
- Failure of suspension hardware caused by a manufacturing defect
- Defective stitching or seams in cushions or slings
- Defects in assembly
- Product components failing under normal intended use
Where a valid warranty claim is confirmed, Verada may elect to:
- repair the product
- supply a replacement part
- replace the product
- provide a refund where required under the Australian Consumer Law
7. What This Warranty Does Not Cover
This warranty does not cover faults or damage caused by circumstances outside normal use.
Examples include misuse or improper use, including:
- Exceeding the maximum user weight stated for the product
- Use by more persons than the product is designed to carry
- Standing, jumping or swinging on the product
- Suspending a hanging chair from a fixing point that is not structurally sound or rated for the load
- Using the product before assembly is complete or with fixings that have not been correctly tightened
Accidental damage, including:
- Impact damage
- Damage caused by drops or improper transport
- Damage caused by storm, high wind or extreme weather events
Unauthorised modifications or repairs, including:
- Use of non-approved replacement parts
- Third party repairs not authorised by Verada
Normal wear and tear, including:
- Fading of fabrics, ropes and finishes
- Weathering of frames
- Compression and softening of cushion fill
- Scratches and cosmetic damage
Failure to follow assembly, maintenance or safety instructions.
8. Cushions, Fabrics and Soft Furnishings
Cushions, covers, slings, mesh seating, canopies and ropes are consumable soft goods.
The following are normal characteristics of outdoor soft furnishings and are not considered defects:
- fading and colour change caused by sunlight
- compression and softening of cushion fill with use
- surface pilling of fabrics
- minor variation in colour or weave between batches
Soft furnishings should be stored under cover or brought indoors when not in use and during wet or extreme weather.
Mould, mildew and water damage caused by leaving soft furnishings exposed or stored while damp are not covered under warranty.
9. Weather Exposure and Storage
Our products are designed for outdoor use and are exposed to weather, moisture, temperature change and ultraviolet light.
Weathering of frames, fading of finishes and dulling of powder coating over time are normal characteristics of outdoor furniture and are not considered defects.
Products must be secured, covered or brought indoors in high wind and during storms.
Damage caused by wind, storm, flood or other extreme weather, or by failure to secure or store a product as recommended, is not covered under warranty.
10. Weight Limits and Suspension
Each product has a maximum user weight, which is stated in the product instructions.
Hanging chairs, egg chairs and other suspended seating depend on the integrity of the frame, stand, ropes, chains and fixings.
Customers must:
- inspect ropes, chains, hooks, frames and fixings before first use and periodically thereafter
- discontinue use immediately where any wear, fraying, corrosion, deformation or loosening is observed
- suspend a hanging chair only from a fixing point that is structurally sound and rated for the load
Damage or failure caused by exceeding weight limits, by use by more than one person where the product is designed for one, or by suspension from an inadequate fixing point is not covered under warranty.
11. Accidental Damage
The warranty does not cover damage caused by accidents including:
- dropping the product
- impact damage
- structural damage caused by collisions
- improper transportation
12. Modifications and Unauthorised Repairs
This warranty does not apply where the product has been:
- modified
- altered
- repaired by a person not authorised by Verada
- fitted with non-approved parts
13. Warranty Claims
To make a warranty claim customers must provide:
- proof of purchase
- order number
- description of the issue
- photographs or video where relevant
Verada may request that the product be returned for inspection before determining whether the warranty applies.
14. Return and Inspection
Where a product must be returned for inspection, customers must contact Verada before sending the product.
Products must be clean, dry and free of soil, sand and moisture before being returned, and where the product was supplied flat packed it must be returned disassembled.
15. Limitation of Warranty
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Verada’s liability under this warranty is limited to the remedies set out in this policy.
Nothing in this policy limits rights available under the Australian Consumer Law.
